My academic studies at ATU have provided me with a strong theoretical and practical foundation in the areas of hospitality, tourism, events, and marketing. Throughout my degree, I have completed a range of modules that have helped me understand how the industry operates and how organizations create value for guests, clients, and stakeholders. Modules such as accounting and web design strengthened my analytical, digital, and technical skills, giving me a broader understanding of the business and operational side of hospitality. I also completed strategic management, which taught me how hospitality organizations plan, compete, and adapt within a constantly changing environment.

A significant part of my studies has focused on events and tourism, including modules such as event planning, event tourism, and marketing strategy, all of which have allowed me to apply creativity, innovation, and structured planning to real-life scenarios. These modules have helped me develop a deep understanding of how events are conceptualized, marketed, managed, and evaluated. They also played an important role in preparing me for real-world projects such as the Atlantic Games, where I gained hands-on experience in planning, branding, and stakeholder communication. Through this academic and practical work, I have grown more confident in my ability to research, analyze, and design event concepts that bring people together and enhance community engagement.

I have also completed modules in public relations, where I learned how effective communication shapes reputation, brand identity, and customer trust. This module strengthened my writing, communication planning, and media awareness, all of which are valuable skills within the hospitality and events sectors. Across my studies, I have discovered a particular passion for marketing, especially in understanding how promotional strategies, brand storytelling, and digital tools can influence guest decision-making and enhance customer experiences. Marketing has become one of the areas I am most interested in pursuing further, as it allows me to combine creativity with strategic thinking.

Overall, my academic portfolio reflects a strong, well-rounded understanding of hospitality, business, events, and marketing. The mix of theory, practical assignments, and hands-on project work has helped me develop professionally and personally, preparing me to contribute confidently and creatively to the hospitality and event industries.
